Towns is signed to a long-term deal with the Timberwolves but they have have routinely been a terrible team. That doesn’t seem to have changed. And with a sale likely this season, Minnesota could be looking to trade their former Nr. 1 Pick.
Towns time with the wolves forced Minnesota to make moves for players like D’Angelo Russell. They were also able to win the NBA Draft lottery in 2020 and 2021 and selected Anthony Edwards and Cade Cunningham with the first-overall picks. With these "new" cornerstones and the uncertain future of KAT this could end up in a huge trade familiar to Paul George or Anthony Davis in 2019 and 2020.
Towns has not been discussed in NBA trade rumors for quite some time now and with a potential new face of the franchise we should definitely consider this as realistic:
