Even though "Star Trek Beyond" has just been nominated for an Oscar in the category 'Make up and Design' - the new Star Trek franchise based off of Gene Roddenberry's original series, which plays in a Kelvin Timeline and is directed by J.J. Abrams has come to an end.

"Star Trek Beyond" will be the last Star Trek cinematic movie featuring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Sandala, John Cho, Simon Pegg and co.

The first movie of the rebooted movie franchise came out in the year 2009 - and was a flop but was the most illegally watched movie in the year.

The second movie "Star Trek: Into Darkness" featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan, came into cinema's four years later, it was by a far shot not the best Star Trek movie, missing the purpose of Star Trek completely, but it was still a great hit in the cinema's as it reached an wider audience and you could watch it without being a die hard trekkie.

And just last year the last Star Trek movie "Star Trek Beyond" which was written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung came to our cinema's. The movie was a hit, but sadly it will be last movie of the new rebooted franchise.

The production companies have stated that the movies don't bring in the wished amount of money, and that they won't be continuing to produce the movies.

Trekkies will surely miss seeing their favorite Captain James T. Kirk, his first commander Spock and the rest of Kirk's crew on the big screen.

Life long and prosper.

Dif tor eh smusma.
