On Monday evening German educational ministers passed a new law affecting German students.
From next month on, every morning before entering the school building they'll have to hand in their phones and are only allowed to collect them after lessons.
The schools have to provide a special entry to make sure they can check every student individually.
This has caused major uproar among German students. Student councils all over German have announced protests.
