Kim Seokjin (Jin) officially announced to join the military under the country's conscription system.
This will mark the end of his current career as a K-pop star. As the oldest member (28) of the global K-pop phenomenon BTS he has decided that the time has come to serve his country South Korea.
All able-bodied South Korean men are requiered to enlist in the military for about 20 months once they turn 28, if not sooner.
